Hanging Basket - Xenias birthday present

Hi there :)

I'd like to show you the gift I made for my friend Xenia. We were looking through my 3rd issue of the Simply Crochet magazine and she pointed out a hanging basket that she thought was really nice and would look good in her home.

"Excellent!" Michelle then thinks, because she is looking for a project to give Xenia for her birthday!

So I started having a look around for yarn to use. Simply Crochet recommended Rico Designs Big cotton yarn and a 9 mm hook. I would need one skein of yarn according to the recipe. I finally found a place that sold it, a lovely website called The Wool Shop which is based in Ireland. I ordered my yarn (one skein as per the pattern, and same yarn in two other colours because they were beautiful) and as the order was 300g of yarn, it was free shipping to Denmark. Yay!

The yarn arrived surprisingly quickly, and I started on the gift. Happy days! The yarn was really difficult to work with, but the result started adding up fast. Until I came to the 6th round and there was no more yarn to use. I ended up using about 2.5 skeins of yarn after ordering some more from The Wool Shop. I must say that it is not the last time I will order yarn from them. Good selections and very swift shipping!

I did get it done as you can see on the pictures. I was very happy with the result and so was Xenia! :)
